Deadmau5 the Sellout...

Okay.
I've been hearing a lot recently (mostly from people who don't have a shits clue as to what they are talking about) that Mr.Joel Zimmerman (deadmau5) has sold out and has become "mainstream" and started to give him shit for it.
Sure as everyone knows I'm a huge fan of his productions. But this is not a matter of dick riding.
What people need to get into their heads that it's the LISTENERS fault for an artist becoming mainstream. Not all mainstream music is bad, which is why it gets continuously played in the first place. A GOOD artist can't stay underground forever. If you're in the 'underground' category forever then you're obviously not good enough in the real world to be considered "mainsteam". It's the truth get the fuck over it.

As for the idea of him becoming a "sell-out" I say you're all fucking retarded. A sell out is an artist who usually changes their own musical style for money OR to become better known by the media and the music industry.
-incoming retarded counter argument:
"But he DJ'd for the VMA's so he sold out"
*facepalm*
You have no idea how many times I've heard this...
HE DIDN'T EVEN FUCKING GET PAID FOR THE VMA'S!
God dude, I just don't see the logic in this. MTV asked him to perform for them and he said yes. If you had that opportunity you sure as fuck would do the same thing. Anyone that says they would do otherwise is, in fact, a lying sack of shit.
He promoted himself to fame (need i remind you) WITHOUT changing his style. You either hate it or love it.
As a producer you can't deny his skill. You can't say someone sucks unless you can do better. Sure there might be someone better but that doesn't mean that the talent isn't there. The critics are usually inexperienced listeners anyways or people who don't even produce their own tracks to begin with.

I started listening to mau5 years back when he was pretty much underground to the area and spoke quietly about him. Now he's everywhere on a lot of my friend's i-Pods and even in my mixes (of course).
I don't give him shit for getting his name out there by doing what he loves and breaths for. I respect him for it and I'm proud of him.
